Well The time has finally come. I put in my notice at my job and started a temp position working on the helpdesk. I never really realized just how much my customer service skills would be needed with this position. It seems like being able to translate “tech” speak in a relatable way for non-tech people is just as important, if not more important, than being able to dive deep into the computer world at this stage of the game. I am really enjoying this so far and hope to moving into a regular full-time position soon. Until then, wish me luck! And remember, you may have other skills that carry over into the IT field more than you realize.
